Lawyer Recruiting: Women's Initiatives

One reason for Working Mother Magazine's recent recognition of McGuireWoods among the "Top 50 Law Firms for Women" is that we have more women lawyers in important leadership roles than most other law firms. Women lawyers manage a number of our top client teams.

Our Women’s Leadership Forum provides the tools and support to help women lawyers succeed, such as networking events that may interest women who have been left out of traditional marketing efforts and internal programs to hone skills.

We have one of the most generous paid parental and adoption leave policies for associates and a reduce-hour phase-in period upon returning from parental leave offered by a law firm. We also have a progressive part-time policy for lawyers, and a variety of career options for women interested in creating their own path to becoming a partner and who value a work-life balance.

We actively recruit and retain women associates, and annually promote a significant number of women to partner status.
